Best Movie/Movie Series Empty
PostSubject: Best Movie/Movie Series   Best Movie/Movie Series EmptySun 29 Jun 2008, 12:42 am

Okay, I'm going to try something different to get posts. This is what i'm going to call the "Best" series. Basically I pick something at random and I will attempt to narrow that topic down to the top ten. For example: Movies. I will try to pick the top ten movies of all time. Obviously, doing it by myself may sound a little opinionated but that is where you are wrong. This is my first in the series and therefore will somewhat be a test run. I'm going to research each topic and find out what the internet thinks...and then i'll voice my own opioions and of course I will be open to anyone else's opinions...Both of yours +_+. So if you would like to contribute something to my top ten list. Feel free to actually use this site...

PostSubject: Re: Best Movie/Movie Series   Best Movie/Movie Series EmptyMon 30 Jun 2008, 12:40 pm

Okay, I wasn't really specific, so its fine. But, I actually wanted some reasons for why they are the Best. Just like a little sentence maybe. I guess i'll show you an example in just a second.

First I'm going to comment on Andy's list.

For starters, I don't understand why Godfather and Godfather II aren't together...Best series is fine. Even if one was clearly not as good as the other. But yeah...

My only problem is that there is no Star-Wars on Andy's list. It has one of the most amazing soundtracks ever, and not to mention it created a Sci-Fi Revolution, not to mention it has probably one of the biggest fan bases ever. Honestly I feel it should be on top at Number one but i guess we have some more arguing to do before we can officially determine who is on top.

I also did some research on my own. Some movies/series that are often in the top ten and not mentioned in Andy's top ten are: Indiana Jones, Schindler's List, Lord of the Rings, Pulp Fiction, Citizen Kane (Never seen that one), Toy Story, and E.T. all were often very high in lists that I glanced over...

You want some explanations well I said some below. But the movies you mentioned are great but Star Wars? I'm not a Star Wars fan and this is my top ten from my opinion, and I those other movies are great but are they top 10 material?

  1. Rocky

Really what is there to say about this movie? I mean it is simply amazing if you think about it, the ultimate under-dog movie that took America by heart. It came out in a time where America was at a low and this movie raised America hearts. It is about getting your shot against life and going toe to toe with it and keeping your own, its about going the distance and not giving up....its amazing...I could go on for hours but I wont. But no movie has ever touched me as deeply as this.

  2. The Godfather

Really this movie is really one of the greatest movies ever created! It has the perfect cast and the perfect story which blends together so great. It bolted Pacino into stardom and it had Marlon Brando give off one of the greatest performances of all time. Its also one of the only movies to ever stay true to the book that was written before it (yes I read it).

  3. The Godfather Part II

Until recently I used to have this movie ranked above part 1, but after recent viewings I dropped it a tad. In order to appreciate this movie you need to watch the first one and watch it a couple of times before hand so you can learn the characters better. Robert Duval stole the show in this movie in my opinion, he was brilliant. Pacino played his character perfectly as his world is falling apart in front of his eyes. Great movie, great series (1-2), Part 3 never happened...period!

  4. Jaws

Your gonna need a bigger boat! HOOPAH! HOOPAH! Show me the way to go home, Im tired and I want to to bed! Blow up! Blow up! You son of a *BOOM*

  5. Jurassic Park

SHOOT HER! SHOOT HER! Ah ha ha you didnt say the magic word! Clever girl...

  6. Back to the Future

    GREAT SCOTT! 1.21 GIGAWATS!

  7. First Blood

Don't look at me, look at the road, thats how accidents happen!

  8. Halloween

    Dr. Loomis owns this movie.

  9. Escape From New York

    .......the name's Plissken!

  10. Happy Gilmore

Seen over a 100 times...Im not kidding either.

I understand that these are your opinions but i'm trying to create the official list. And you may not like it, but StarWars has to be up there in the top ten. It has too big of a fan base, not to mention that the original was a breakthrough in film production during its time.

Good reasons for your top ten...but i think only your top half would make an official top ten list.
